I have always loved photography since I was a child.  I took photos of family and friends to capture special moments in time.  I loved taking pictures and was always impatient while the pictures were being developed. I always thought portraits were so magical because of the feeling I got from viewing the pictures in hand.

As an adult, I took pictures every now and then for special occasions. Rarely did I capture the day to day moments of life, the mundane or just creative photos. Photography began to fade from my hobbies as college and work took up most of my time. After working as an engineer for a few years, I realized that I wasn’t feeding my inner soul of creativity. Each time I watched a beautiful movie or saw an amazing portrait, it inspired me to want to contribute to the world as a creator - someone who could share my ideas with the world in either small or big ways. So after ten plus years of working as a cog in the wheel, I knew my soul wanted more so I decided to drop everything and study film and art. My journey took me to the Colorado Film School where I studied film and cinematography. Then I went to the Academy of Art to get my MFA in Animation & Visual Effects. The journey was tough as I gave up the comfort of nice living quarters and money to just living with just barely enough to get by.

Was it worth it? Yes! My career took me to working in both the video game and film industry. While I was in school and also while pursuing my career, I picked up my camera and started shooting indie films, wedding videos and more recently portraits. I was constantly inspired with every shoot. It was very therapeutic and relaxing for me. I fell in love with portrait photography again as I was so enamored by the faces I would capture. Each photo I took told a different story. Because my work career does not require a lot of human interaction, photography has given me the opportunity to build trust with others in a deeper, collaborative and creative fashion.

As someone who has been working in the creative industry for over ten years now, I have decided to take my photography skills to a new level by pushing the boundaries of my portraits with creative storytelling. I want to capture that magical feeling that I felt as a kid by taking one portrait at a time.

If you want a portrait of yourself in a very easy going and engaging session, please reach out to me. I would love to learn more about you, your story and share a little bit of my creative process. Currently, I am serving Washington state and the Pacific Northwest.
